Systems Engineer, Intern

Vespa.ai, the open, big data serving engine that powers 900 million active users and many hundred thousand queries per second.

We are looking for a talented developer to join Yahoo’s Vespa Team in Trondheim for a 2022 summer internship. The Trondheim Team is 30 developers, situated at Prinsens gate 49.

Responsibilities

Develop a new feature in open source code to be used by potentially all Vespa.ai applications The responsibilities will be matched to the intern's interests and skills. The intern should learn new skills as part of the project - project definition to be set after intern signup.

Minimum Qualifications

Some experience in software engineering processes, tools, methods, test development

Experience with one of: Java, Javascript, C++, Linux

Bonus: Familiarity with machine learning or performance measurement, analysis and tuning methodologies for production sites
